Are there pre-reqs to completing this course?
Yes, this is an advanced track so you should have already completed a trauma-training of some kind, TCYM or other, before attending this course. There are approximately 16-hours of video lecture footage for this course.
Is this a prenatal yoga teacher training?
No. Prenatal Yoga TeacherTrainings range from 50-85 hours and certify those who are already certified/registered yoga teachers to teach prenatal yoga specifically. This professional training and certification provides professionals with study around how trauma impacts the reproductive health journey and ways in which providers can support trauma survivors to find healing and embodiment throughout this journey. Nityda is considering creating a trauma-informed prenatal yoga teacher training. Please write in if you would be interested in this training.
I’m already certified in prenatal yoga- why should I take this course?
Prenatal Yoga Teaching Certification is a wonderful thing that enables you to understand the miraculous changes to the pregnant body and how to best support those changes while teaching asana classes. This training goes further to provide information on how trauma impacts the pregnant mind-body-soul, as well as those who are trying to conceive, and postpartum. This training provides information around why it is important that we be trauma-informed when working with people along the reproductive health journey as well as how we can be trauma-informed as providers. In addition to enriching lecture content, this training you will learn yoga, somatic, and embodiment practices that you can use with your clients, regardless of your profession, to support them in healing trauma and living into their highest selves along the reproductive health journey.
Will I receive continuing education units (CEU’s/CE’s) for attending this course?
Currently TCYI can provide CE’s for Yoga Teachers across states, via Yoga Alliance, and Mental Health Professionals licensed in Texas State as social workers, professional counselors, marriage and family therapists, and psychologists. All other licenses and states must check with their state licensing board to ascertain whether or not this course meets the license standards for CE approval.
